Prior to settling in the Santa Ynez Valley, Dr. Kathelene had gained extensive experience in all aspects of comprehensive dentistry and this has been her focus ever since. After practicing in Los Olivos for several years, she opened her current practice in Solvang in an inviting space of understated sophistication and warmth, with state-of-the-art dental equipment accented by antique furniture and a fireplace in the lobby.
Professionally, Dr. Kathelene is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa Barbara-Ventura Dental Association, Santa Barbara Dental Study Group and the Solvang Progressive Dental Study Club. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Institute for Dental Implant Awareness, the only general dentist on this national board where all of the others are specialty dentists. She pursues a high level of continuing education in diagnosing and treatment of a full range of dental issues and was rated as one of the top 5% of general dentists the USA in the number of dental implants restored.
Voluntarily, Dr. Kathelene helps provide the clients of Santa Ynez Valley People Helping People with emergency and other dental services. Dr. Kathelene was selected by the staff and directors of People Helping People (PHP) as Co-Volunteer of the year for 2009-10. She is an active member of the Solvang Chamber of Commerce and Santa Ynez Valley Visitors Association. Dr. Kathelene and her faithful canine companion Pepper (of Heinz 57 variety) reside in Los Olivos.
